Victoria Birkett

Victoria Birkett joined the agency in March 2009 as Associate Agent. She spent her formative years in publishing at Andersen Press and, after several years of running rights departments for Heinemann Young Books and HarperCollins Children's Books, Victoria joined Scholastic UK. During her ten-year tenure, she was Buying Director for Scholastic's clubs and fairs and then became Editorial Director for Scholastic Book Clubs and Red House.

Victoria writes "My experience, of selecting and developing books to sell directly to children and their parents, is invaluable in the search for the most exciting projects. We offer publishers high quality proposals confident that the projects will inspire and entertain children and encourage them to read. What better gift for a child than the ability to escape into a book?"

"Being with Miles Stott is being with a small and friendly yet professional team. Caroline's knowledge of world rights has brokered deals from China to the Faroe Islands. My agent Victoria is always ready to answer my questions, from the nitty gritty of a book contract, to what to wear for that all important publisher's party." - Gill Lewis

"Victoria has been such a brilliant agent to me, right from the word go. She's always been incredibly supportive and encouraging of me and my work. I can always trust her to be honest and to have my best interests at heart. She continues to provide fantastic guidance for me, and helps steer my career every step of the way. Victoria always keeps me in the loop at every stage of contract negotiations, and knows exactly what to do and who to speak on my behalf. Sometimes the world of publishing can be very tricky to navigate, and I'm very fortunate to have someone like her on my side!" - Eleanor Hawken
