Rachel Carter

Rachel Carter

Rachel grew up on a Somerset smallholding surrounded by animals. At the age of twelve she was selected to attend a week-long creative writing course where she was in her element. Since then, she's been a writer of real-life feature stories for national women's magazines, an inventor of ideas for pop-up books and an editor of children's non-fiction.

It was on the Writing for Young People MA at Bath Spa University that Rachel felt she truly belonged. She graduated with Distinction. Ethan's Voice, her debut novel for 9-12 year-olds is a tender, uplifting story about a boy who cannot speak and a girl who changes his life forever.

Rachel lives in Bristol where she works in a museum.

Ethan's Voice is published by Scholastic.
