Translation rights are handled on behalf of MSLA by Caroline Hill-Trevor. Caroline started her publishing career as an editor at Heinemann Young Books, moving into rights at Scholastic Children's Books in 1991 where she sold rights in a huge range of books ranging from humorous non-fiction to award-winning literary titles. Since leaving Scholastic she has continued her rights career working for herself, and has been involved with MSLA for almost seven years. Caroline prides herself in reading every book she sells (unless it is about a dog and has a sad ending!), and enjoys the challenge of finding the right publisher for each title in different countries. She attends Frankfurt and Bologna book fairs every year, and is in constant communication with a huge database of publishers built up over the last twenty years.
"Translation rights are in good hands with Caroline. She is professional, realistic, knows her books and the translation rights markets well and is pleasant to work with." - John McLay - Literary Scout
"I esteem Caroline not only as a wonderful person but also as a very professional agent and I always have a high confidence in her recommendations. So it's due to her that I bought a very, very successful series for the publishing house I worked before which I wouldn't have recognized if she wouldn't have advised me of that series. She is also brilliant in assessing the special needs of her clients as well as the special needs for the German market. And by the way it is wonderful working with her because she is also a very warmhearted as well as humorous person - I always love meeting her and being in touch with her!" - Alexandra Borisch, Editorial Director, KeRLE Publishing House, Germany
